Community Nurses

NHS Ayrshire & Arran have aligned a Community Nursing Team to our Practice. The District Nursing Team can provide care and treatment to our housebound population.

Community Midwives

Julie Fulton

The practice will help to look after you during pregnancy and at home after the delivery. Julie runs our Ante-Natal Clinic on Thursday and Friday afternoons at the Heathfield Suite in Ayr Hospital.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Community Dietician

Anne Carnochan

Anne is a Community Dietician who can offer advice on how to make informed and practical choices about food and nutrition and help diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems. The practice holds a dietetic clinic twice a month on a Thursday afternoon. Referral is made via the GP.

Advanced Practice Physiotherapist

Brian Scarisbrick

Brian is an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist who has a clinic in the Practice twice weekly. If you have a musculoskeletal complaint you can book an appointment direct with Brian, no need to be referred. Alternatively, you may find some helpful advice on the NHS Ayrshire and Arran Musculoskeletal (MSK).

Community Link Worker

Fiona Norbury

Fiona is a Community Link Practitioner whose role is to support people to live well in the community. Fiona will listen to your story and talk to you about what is going on in your life. She can help you to get support, advice and information from services or activities that will help to improve your physical and mental wellbeing, and quality of life. Fiona holds clinics every Wednesday and Friday at the Practice or can visit you in your home if you struggle to get out.

Practice Pharmacists

Lorraine McCallum & Kay McMillan

Lorraine and Kay are Community Pharmacists working with the Practice. They will carry out project work and does patient medication reviews.

Mental Health Team

Jacqueline Nisbet

Mental Health Practitioner Jacqueline can see patients who are suffering mild to moderate mental health issues. She holds clinics in the surgery on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Referral to Jacqueline can be made from one of the clinicians. 

Social Work

Under the Health and Social Care Partnership, the Practice now has an aligned Social Work team. Should you require Social Work input, you can contact them direct, or speak with a member of our clinical team.
