When We Are ClosedNHS24.jpg

If you are calling out with opening hours please telephone NHS24 on 111.

Out of hours services are provided by NHS 24/Ayrshire Urgent Call Service (AUCS) which provides out-of-hours cover for our patients.

This service is for urgent problems, which cannot wait until the next routine surgery to be seen.

The service is staffed by GPs and nurses. When you phone, a nurse will ask for details of your illness and will offer advice if appropriate. She may ask you to attend the primary care treatment centre (PCTC) which is based in Ayr Hospital to see a clinician or, if your condition requires a home visit, she will arrange this.

You can find more information on the NHS 24 website.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
