Out of hours services are provided by NHS 24/Ayrshire Doctors On
Call (ADOC) which provides out-of-hours cover for our patients. This
service is for urgent problems, which cannot wait until the next
routine surgery to be seen. The service is staffed by GPs and
nurses. When you phone, a nurse will ask for details of your illness
and will offer advice if appropriate. She may ask you to attend the
primary care treatment centre (PCTC) which is based in Ayr Hospital
to see a doctor or, if your condition requires a home visit, she
will arrange this. You can find more information on the
